Vertical Staffing Resources recently held a “Job Fair” in Guelph, Ontario for what they advertised as a new food manufacturing facility opening in Guelph. They advertised it as taking place on April 23, 24, 30 and May 1, 2016.The first step in applying, before an interview and before being offered a job, was that they made everyone fill out paperwork for 2 hours including for WHMIS and safety training. I assume they did this so that they get away without having to pay the new employees wages for safety training. According to the Ministry of Labour this is illegal. Safety training is considered part of employment and therefore wages have to be paid for it. It’s also ridiculous making people who may not be hired go through 2 hours of paperwork.Reading some of the ridiculous things that were in the fine print in the paperwork, such as things they would deduct off your pay, was the last straw. I realized this would be a terrible company to work for and took the huge pile of paperwork and threw it in the recycling bin in the hotel lobby and left.They also lied about it being a food manufacturing facility as it is for a company that only washes re-usable vegetable trays. They also lied about the positions that are available. They advertised that they are hiring six Line Leaders but they are not hiring any at all. At the job fair they said you have to start as a forklift operator and then MAYBE people will get promoted to a Line Leader position. They told the person behind me the exact same thing. Yet they are still advertising that they are hiring Line Leaders.

The recruiters were very helpful in both helping me apply and obtain a position through Vertical at a great company. They treat their employees with respect and resolve issues quickly. I was sent home one day as the company didn't require me but I still got my 3 hours of pay!!

Was sent an application form, and asks for your SIN which anyone should be extremely uncomfortable providing online. Unless you are hired, there should be no reason to provide it. The scammers and identity thieves are at an all time high. I think this is terrible for business

It has been a good few months working with Vertical. Something that really makes this staffing agency stand out is the pay delivery and professionalism among the entire vertical staff...I was happy to know they have a location in bramoton with the same energy and professionalism. I highly recommend vertical staffing to anyone looking for work!

Worst Agency I have worked with, they withheld my pay for 32 days, made me re do my registrations 2 weeks into my new job, lost my background screening results, and blamed me for the mistakes of their employee. Nicole and Vanessa were very rude and were never helpful. In the end it took me 40 days and after i complained to the ministry of Labor that i was i finally able to receive my pay. Never did i think in a million years would i have to deal with a company like this at-least not in Canada.

Referred a few clients to our branches for staffing needs. The branch managers and team took great care of them and provided them the employees in a timely manner. Great communication & follow up. Would definitely recommend Vertical for medium to large scale staffing needs.

Probably the worst agency I have ever interacted with. If I could put 0 stars then I would.Tells me to come to the Brampton location (there is no Brampton location)I call multiple times and goes straight to voicemail. Unprofessional would be the perfect word to categorize this agency. I will not reveal the name of the person I was talking to but they know. Horrible experience, I doubt this agency will even give a stable job. Vertical Staffing, don't reply to this, I have nothing more to say and don't want your pity or feedback.

They advertised jobs in the Mississauga News and when you get there to apply, you cannot get up to their office- 30 Eglinton Ave. W #410.Called and left voicemail asking for directions(elevators apparently only work if you have a pass). No return call back. Very UNPROFESSIONAL guys ! THIS AGENCY LOOKS LIKE A SCAM UNFORTUNATELY !

Few weekends ago I attended the job fair in Guelph and applied for the general labor job. The staff from Vertical were courteous and explained everything to me in full detail. What I really like are the clean offices, it was pretty cool to walk right into the office on google maps!

I looked for work with Vertical as advertised in the Mississauga News for 100+ Light General Labours for up to $14.50 / hr!!!. I completed the forms and tests and was assigned a job in Oakville for $11.25. I waited 1/2 hour at site when the supervisor informed me that I was not expected and to clarify with the Vertical Rep as a similar incident occurred previously. My gut tells me that these Agencies provide false hope to those seeking employment.
